Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Frances Harimoto, M.S. HS-ESM, founder of Camp Safe & Sound.
I created Camp Safe & Sound because I believe children can learn life-saving safety skills in a way that feels empowering, engaging, and even fun. Through music, movement, interactive activities, and hands-on learning, I help children build confidence and resilience while learning how to stay safe during emergencies and everyday situations.
My professional background combines emergency preparedness, occupational safety, healthcare risk management, and education. I hold a Master of Science in Homeland Security & Emergency Services Management and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Early Childhood Education. I am also a certified First Aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support Instructor and currently work in environmental risk and safety management.
For more than 20 years, I have worked with children and families in educational settings, developing age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and skill-building. Throughout my career, I have trained individuals and organizations in safety, emergency preparedness, risk reduction, and resilience planning.
As a child advocate, educator, and safety professional, I understand that preparedness education should never create fear. Instead, children should learn practical safety skills through positive experiences that help them feel capable, calm, and ready to respond when challenges arise.
At Camp Safe & Sound, our mission is simple: to help children ages 3–11 build confidence, resilience, and safety awareness through play-based learning that inspires them to become prepared, empowered, and safe.
I look forward to helping your child learn, grow, and discover that being prepared can be both fun and empowering everyone’s a champ in the making.
